alec's year books

When my son Alec was born in 2009, I began a series of quick, sketchy comics about life with the new baby. This turned into an ongoing project which has been greeted with enthusiasm by parents and non-parents alike. The first two "year books" debuted at the 2012 Calgary Comics Expo, and the next two at the 2013 Expo. Printing costs for the 3rd and 4th year books were paid for with money raised through a great local crowdsourcing website, InvestYYC (check it out - really!). And that aforementioned printing was done by the superlative folks at Calgary's own Rileys. (There's no apostrophe in "Rileys." It's just like "Tim Hortons." But, I still love them.)

For this year's fast-approaching Expo (April 24th - 27th, 2014), I'll be at Artist Alley, and yes, you can expect to see Alec's 5th Year Book, featuring new baby Henry! (Yes, I know he should probably get his very own yearbook, but such is the fate of the second child.) I'm hoping to have time to put up a few more pages from the series before then. But for now, here's the first book.
